The Nature Conservancy
Program Descriptions
Natural Habitat Conservation: works to protect various habitats in order to preserve the diversity of life. Habitats protected by Nature Conservancy range from coral reefs to deserts. The organization helps protect lands and waters that are important to the survival of plants and animals. For example, forests throughout the world are at risk of degradation and deforestation. However, these same forests are what give us shade, shelter, food, water, and more. Therefore, Nature Conservancy helps protect and preserve forests – and other habitats – because they are vital to ecosystems and to our lives.
Global Environmental Issues: include climate change, energy development, and much more. Nature Conservancy is focused on addressing these “urgent issues” and finding solutions to conservation challenges around the globe. The organization is using high level strategies to do their best to combat these issues in hopes of creating a better world.
