A lot! Education programs and tours to residents, businesses, and schools, helped establish 30 food waste and over 50 recycling drop off locations, offers 2 locations to drop off hard to recycle materials and household hazardous waste, provides opportunities for businesses, schools, and other organizations get recycling and food waste collection onsite.
SWACO helps communities and schools get the best rates for recycling collection, offers grants for new recycling and compost programs, attends community events, offers recycling, compost, and trash bins for events to divert waste away from the landfill. Works with communities to offer take back days for household items like batteries, paint, and prescription meds. Helps communities get recycling carts for their residents. If you want to keep something out of the landfill, we will work with you to figure out how to do it, no matter what the material is. We are always looking for partners to help us do that.
