Ohio SPCA

About

About

What is your organization’s mission statement?

Ohio SPCA which stands for The Ohio Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals helps to intercede on behalf of animals and bring about change to situations and practices in which cruelty, neglect, or unnecessary suffering exists.

What population do you serve?

Ohio SPCA runs an adoption center in Lima, OH and a rehabilitation farm 30 min south of Columbus. We serve domestic and farm animals in Ohio.

How many do you serve in a year?

Hundreds of companion animals (cats, dogs, bunnies, parakeets…) and farm animals (horses, cows, pigs, ducks, chickens, goats, sheep…) are rescued and rehabilitated by the Ohio SPCA every year. Many animals are helped through educating their owners about proper care. Whenever possible, we help provide feed or medical care to families or individuals faced with a temporary financial hardship.

700-750 animals adopted out in 2016.
