What region or area do you provide services in?

Canine Companions is a national non-profit organization offering its programs to people with disabilities across the country. The North Central Region serves the entire state of Ohio and 13 surrounding states.

How and when did the organization get started?

Canine Companions started in 1975 and is one of the first and oldest assistance dog organizations in the country. It began in Santa Rosa, California with the vision to provide the highest quality of assistance dogs to people who have disabilities.

How many employees do you have?

The North Central Region has 15 full time and 5 part-time staff members comprised of people who raise funds for the organization and others who train and care for the dogs.

How many volunteers does your organization have?

Canine Companions has 300 volunteers helping us each year.
