What is your organization’s mission statement?

Canine Companions for Independence is a non-profit organization that enhances the lives of people with disabilities by providing highly trained assistance dogs and ongoing support to ensure quality partnerships.

What population do you serve?

Canine Companions provides services to children, adults, and veterans who have a physical disability. Canine Companions also provides facility dogs who work within a hospital, rehabilitation programs, and court environments to provide assistance to a multitude of clients in need of the facility’s specialized care.

How many do you serve in a year?

The North Central Region pairs 54 teams per year, assisting not only the recipient matched with the assistance dog, but their family and clients within a facility setting.
