Program Descriptions

Early Childhood Care & Educational Services: provides quality care for children of parents who are working, receiving job training, or attending an educational program.

We provide year-round day childcare for children 6 weeks to 4 years old. Our staff is well qualified, and we provide a wide variety of activities to engage children across the year.

 

Neighborhood Services: provides individuals and families with basic material needs (emergency food and assistance with obtaining utilities/prescriptions) on an as needed basis. Two certified Benefit Bank counselors are on site to assist individuals & families gain access to public benefit programs.

Choice Food Pantry: allows community members to come and choose healthy foods that their family needs.

Family Services: provides support services to families, focusing on keeping families together, as well as building strong healthy families. St. Stephen’s Community House is the lead agency in this partnership with 4 other settlement houses working towards the same goal with Franklin County Children Services.

Senior Services: We provide comprehensive services to senior citizens in the Linden community and outlying areas. Our services include home visits, connecting senior citizens with community resources, providing socialization and recreational activities, a neighborhood health center, and we are a meal site for seniors to receive meals from LifeCare Alliance.

 

Youth Services: Our staff emphasizes developing age-appropriate social skills, enhancing academics, increasing positive peer interactions, and nurturing family relationships through group work, individual, and family support services and school visits.

 

 Living Well in Linden Initiative: To encourage the residents in our community to live an active and healthy lifestyle, St. Stephen’s provides a bike loan program to families. We also have a unique aquaponic community garden where community residents can volunteer, learn, and also receive a portion of the fruits and vegetables that are harvested from the garden.
