What region or area do you provide services in?

The Special Olympics has programs in all 50 states and 150 countries. Special Olympics Ohio has over 200 local member organizations that serve Ohio specifically.

How and when did the organization get started?

The first national meet for Special Olympics was held in Chicago in 1968 and it hosted over 1,000 athletes from the United States and Canada. In 1975, Special Olympics Ohio was formed to provide events and training specifically to those in Ohio.

How many employees do you have?

We have a small staff to handle general operations.
