Patient Experiences: This program is an opportunity that allows friends and family to nominate an individual who is or has recently received cancer treatments to receive a gift of an “experience” of their choice. The experience can be anything the individual can dream up – a trip to their favorite vacation destination, a meeting with someone they’ve always wanted to meet, a trip to a major sporting event – the possibilities are endless.

Cancer Research Projects: We seek out research projects that support all types of cancers – we don’t just support one type – we support them all. We specifically seek projects that are underfunded, never been funded, or used to be funded. We choose these projects because they allow us to use the dollars with the greatest impact possible.

Patient Care Programs: Patient care is a broad category that allows us to fund a variety of projects. We offer individual support to individuals and their caregivers in the form of gift cards to gas stations, which helps people pay for expenses related to travel when going to their treatment. We also help with money to help pay household bills and we purchase food for group events that allow families/individuals to take a break from their treatments and go and relax and have fun for a day.

Super Hero Program: Every kid in the hospital needs to be strong while receiving treatment. We help purchase superhero capes for kids to wear while in the hospital.

Card Program: Everyone likes to receive a card on special days like their birthday. We work with kids, families, and volunteers to create cards for cancer patients so that we can “overwhelm” them on their special days.

You Name It, Let’s Do It! Program: This category is for the inventors who want to support cancer patients, their caregivers, and families and have an idea of what they want to do, but need a partner like Families for a Cure to help make it happen.
