LSS Faith Mission

About

Background

What region or area do you provide services in?

Faith Mission serves the central Ohio area. We have three locations near the Columbus downtown area that provide shelter, food, and other services.

How and when did the organization get started?

Faith Mission began operations on February 6, 1966 when another local mission offering food and shelter was closed. Reverend Sam Goers and other members of the Trinity Lutheran Church started Faith Mission so that the homeless and needy in Columbus could continue to get shelter and food.

Faith Mission has been in operation ever since, and in 1998 it became part of the Lutheran Social Services family.

Today the Faith Mission provides 24-hour emergency shelter and operates in three locations in central Ohio. It is the only organization in Franklin County that provides three free meals a day, every day of the year to anyone who is hungry.

How many employees do you have?

Faith Mission has 82 employees.
