Dreams On Horseback
Program Descriptions
Therapeutic Riding Lessons: Designed for youth and adults with physical, mental, and emotional challenges, therapeutic riding lessons include exercises to improve gross and fine motor coordination and strengthening of core muscles and balance. Lessons are taught by instructors certified by PATH International (Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship) and are supported by a team of volunteers who assist as horse leaders and sidewalkers.
Vocational Training: The program provides individualized education, employment training, and social skills development for high schoolers. Students enhance their skills through “on-the-job” coaching, weekly performance evaluations, teamwork training, and goal setting sessions.
Educational Opportunities for Organizations Serving At-Risk Youth: Dreams invites youth to visit our beautiful farm in Blacklick for “Dreams Ranch Day”, or we will transport horses with the “Dreams on the Road” program for an unforgettable educational opportunity for students.
Alzheimer’s Therapy: In association with The Ohio State University, Dreams on Horseback offers programs to patients with Alzheimer’s that have been proven to reduce the negative behaviors caused by the disease.
