How do your programs or services help the community?
Community Crime Patrol (CCP) helps the community by keeping citizens of Columbus safe. If a crime is taking place, CCP can help alert police officers. On a daily basis, even if nothing is going on, nearby residents can feel safer because of CCP’s presence.
Some highlights over the program’s existence include:
- Reported over 50,000 incidents to the police for action
- Received the Meritorious Public Service Award for stopping a sexual assault.
- Been an integral part of over 800 arrests
- Identified over 100 drunk drivers
Program Descriptions
Neighborhood Patrol: Community Crime Patrol (CCP) has patrollers in five neighborhoods. These trained patrollers carry flashlights and two-way radios. They work to deter criminals and help police capture suspects, as well as provide first aid when needed.
