We provide services in Central Ohio.
How and when did the organization get started?
We started in 1883. We were founded by two school teachers and several prominent community leaders, our mission remains the same today as it was then— to fight animal cruelty, help animals in need and advocate for their well-being.
Through animal adoptions and admissions, animal cruelty investigations, pet visitation, public health initiatives suffering from domestic violence, training classes to help pets and their people and humane education programs to engage and inspire kids of all ages, Columbus Humane seeks to protect those who cannot speak for themselves. Our programs and services are essential for the health and vitality of Franklin County.

Columbus Humane has 550 volunteers each year that contibute over 35,000 hours.
