What is your organization’s mission statement?

The Blue Star Mothers of America, Inc. is a non-partisan, non-political, non-sectarian organization. We do not support any political candidate nor do we endorse any religious organization. The military represents all aspects of America as does our organization. Links to our website do not represent an endorsement. We are a 501(c)3 Organization

Organizational Overview

We are mothers, stepmothers, grandmothers, foster mothers, and female legal guardians who have children serving in the military, guard, reserves, or children who are veterans. We support each other and our children while promoting patriotism. Our organization focuses on our mission every single day and will never, ever, forsake our troops, our veterans, or the families of our Fallen Heroes.

We have nearly 6,000 members from over 200 Chapters throughout the nation.

Active duty military, veterans, families of The Fallen

How many do you serve in a year?

Difficult to estimate. Even with Covid-19, our chapter sent 800 “We Care” packages in the fiscal year 2019-2020 – this would have impacted at least 800 active-duty personnel, but often boxes are shared and the impact is larger. Pre-pandemic we provided a hostess table in the lobby of the local VA medical center as well as a coffee cart once a month as well as other events. We really don’t keep an exact count of this. We provided 52 RWB honor cords to graduating seniors committing to the US military. We attended numerous ceremonies and functions supporting and honoring the Fallen and veterans. We attend Home Comings by Honor Flight. We volunteer at the Central Ohio Stand Down. The list is much longer, but you can see why this is difficult to estimate.
