How do your programs or services help the community?

The Open Shelter provides direct referrals to detox/treatment, medical care, entitlement benefits, and housing options. Because of the limitations of the shelter system, our outreach efforts include providing persons living “on the street” with food, clothing, sleeping bags, etc. to help them survive until they are able to access shelter or housing options. Outreach provides follow-up services for persons who have recently moved “off the streets” and into housing.
