Service-Learning: K-2

The driving principle of See Kids Dream’s service-learning programs is that students are empowered to decide how to help. Student leaders collect input on where the community needs help, they learn about the community needs, and then take action to meet those needs. Here you can see the See Kids Dream Service-Learning: K-2 students in action through the school year!

step one

GATHER INPUT

Students are introduced to leadership as they define their community, develop a list of possible community issues to address, and collaboratively plan how to gather and track input from the community.

step two

RESEARCH

Student leaders investigate community issues, interview community-based organizations, and determine how their school can best meet the needs of the community.

step three

TAKE ACTION

Student leaders implement plans for conducting service projects and get ready for the Leaders of Tomorrow Showcase where they share with Community Leaders the impact they made in the community.
