Letters to People in Retirements Homes
Show people in your community that you care! Create a card to send to an older member of our community living in a retirement home.
Why is it important?
To protect people from the coronavirus, older members of our community who live in retirement homes aren’t able to have visitors. Though this helps keep people safe, it can be lonely. Consider brightening up someone’s day by sending them a homemade card!
What supplies do you need?
- Paper
- Envelopes
- Markers, colored pencils, or crayons
- And any other supplies you want! Consider using stickers, glitter, or paint!
What steps do you need to take?
- Gather supplies! Look around your house for things you can use to make a creative card.
- Create! Decorate the front cover of your card however you want and write a kind message inside. Check out the Letters of Love website for more ideas of what to include in your letter. Consider including your first name, grade, and something you like to do. Then write a message to let the person know you’re thinking of them, and maybe even include a joke or riddle!
- Mail your cards! Send them to a local retirement home or to Letters of Love, who will distribute your letters for you.
