Group “friendraisers” can include any type of activity the group chooses to help raise money to donate to US Together. Examples are organize a run or walk, a bake sale, a car wash, a pet fashion show, etc.

Conduct a Social Media Advocacy/ Awareness Campaign


Get the word out on Twitter or Instagram about the good work US Together is doing in Central Ohio.

What is your organization’s mission statement?


US Together works to resettle and respond to the needs of refugees and immigrants from around the world.

What population do you serve? 


We serve all refugees who may be in need of assistance with their transition to the United States.  US Together Columbus provides these services to refugee and immigrants living in the Central Ohio region.


How many do you serve in a year? 


We provide hundreds of immigrants and refugees every year.

We provide services in Central Ohio.

How and when did the organization get started? 


US Together was founded in 2003 in Columbus Ohio in response to the growing needs of immigrants and refugees.  It was and remains a mutual-assistance agency, which means it is run by former refugees and immigrants.


How many employees do you have? 


We have approximately 40 employees.

We have hundreds of volunteers who help us raise money and support our services for refugees and immigrants.

How do your programs or services help the community?


We provide vital services to refugees and immigrants in the Columbus area so they can make a successful transition to the area and become good community citizens.

Program Descriptions 


Citizen and Integration Services: We provide free citizenship classes and naturalization application assistance to lawful permanent residents.

Community Consultations: We provide training and assistance to local community organizations and businesses to help them with cultural competency.

Employment Location Assistance: We provide employment location assistance. We also help refugees and immigrants identify their strengths and help them determine jobs that would be a good fit for them.

English Proficiency Training: We provide tutoring and classes to help refugees and immigrants learn English
